the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip
spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.
- [asv] For
from many of those that had unclean spirits, they came out, crying with
a loud voice: and many that were palsied, and that were lame, were
healed.
- [snd] /fɔr/ /frɑm/ /ˈmeni/ /əv/ /ðoʊz/ /ðæt/ /həd/ /ʌnˈklin/ /ˈspɪrɪts/ /ðeɪ/ /keɪm/ /aʊt/ /ˈkraɪɪŋ/ /wɪð/ /eɪ/ /laʊd/ /vɔɪs/ /ænd/ /ˈmeni/ /ðæt/ /wɜr/ d/ /ænd/ /ðæt/ /wɜr/ /leɪm/ /wɜr/ /hild/

- [asv] But
there was a certain man, Simon by name, who beforetime in the city used
sorcery, and amazed the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was
some great one:
- [snd] /bʌt/ /ðer/ /wɑz/ /eɪ/ /ˈsɜrt(ə)n/ /mæn/ /sai mən/ /baɪ/ /neɪm/ /hu/ /bi'fɔtaim/ /ɪn/ /ði/ /ˈsɪti/ /juzd/ /ˈsɔrs(ə)ri/ /ænd/ /əˈmeɪzd/ /ðə/ /ˈpip(ə)l/ /əv/ /səmɛəriə/ /ɡɪvɪŋ/ /aʊt/ /ðæt/ /hɪmˈself/ /wɑz/ /sʌm/ /ɡreɪt/ /wʌn/
- [jnd] But
a certain man, by name
Simon, had been before in the city, using magic arts, and astonishing
the nation of Samaria, saying that himself was some great one.
- [kjv] But
there was a certain man,
called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and
bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great
one:
- [asv] to
whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This
man is that power of God which is called Great.
- [snd] /tu/ /hum/ /ðeɪ/ /ɔl/ /ɡeɪv/ /hid/ /frɑm/ /ðə/ /list/ /tu/ /ðə/ /ɡreɪtst/ /ˈseɪɪŋ/ /ðɪs/ /mæn/ /ɪz/ /ðæt/ /ˈpaʊər/ /əv/ /ɡɑd/ /wɪtʃ/ /ɪz/ /kɔld/ /ɡreɪt/
- [jnd] To
whom they had all given heed, from small to great, saying, This is the
power of God which is called great.
- [kjv] To
whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This
man is the great power of God.
- [asv] And
they gave heed to him, because that of long time he had amazed them
with his sorceries.
- [snd] /ænd/ /ðeɪ/ /ɡeɪv/ /hid/ /tu/ /hɪm/ /bɪˈkɔz/ /ðæt/ /əv/ /lɔŋ/ /taɪm/ /heɪ/ /həd/ /əˈmeɪzd/ /ðem/ /wɪð/ /hɪz/ /ˈsɔrs(ə)riz/
- [jnd] And
they gave heed to him, because that for a long time he had astonished
them by his magic arts.
- [kjv] And
to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them
with sorceries.
- [asv] But
when they believed Philip preaching good tidings concerning the kingdom
of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and
women.
- [snd] /bʌt/ /wen/ /ðeɪ/ /bɪˈlivd/ /failip/ /pritʃɪŋ/ /ɡʊd/ /ˈtaɪdɪŋz/ /kənˈsɜrnɪŋ/ /ðə/ /ˈkɪŋdəm/ /əv/ /ɡɑd/ /ænd/ /ðə/ /neɪm/ /əv/ /ji'zəs/ /krai st/ /ðeɪ/ /wɜr/ /bæpˈtaɪzd/ /boʊθ/ /men/ /ænd/ /'wimin/
- [jnd] But
when they believed Philip
announcing the glad tidings concerning the kingdom of God and the name
of Jesus Christ, they were baptised, both men and women.
- [kjv] But
when they believed Philip
preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of
Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
- [asv] And
Simon also himself believed: and being baptized, he continued with
Philip; and beholding signs and great miracles wrought, he was amazed.
- [snd] /ænd/ /sai mən/ /ˈɔlsoʊ/ /hɪmˈself/ /bɪˈlivd/ /ænd/ /biɪŋ/ /bæpˈtaɪzd/ /heɪ/ /kənˈtɪnjud/ /wɪð/ /failip/ /ænd/ /bɪˈhoʊldɪŋ/ /saɪnz/ /ænd/ /ɡreɪt/ /ˈmɪrək(ə)lz/ /ræwt/ /heɪ/ /wɑz/ /əˈmeɪzd/
- [jnd] And
Simon also himself
believed; and, having been baptised, continued constantly with Philip;
and, beholding the signs and great works of power which took place, was
astonished.
- [kjv] Then
Simon himself believed
also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered,
beholding the miracles and signs which were done.
- [asv] Now
when the apostles that were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had
received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
- [snd] /naʊ/ /wen/ /ði/ /əˈpɑs(ə)lz/ /ðæt/ /wɜr/ /æt/ /jərusələm/ /hɜrd/ /ðæt/ /səmɛəriə/ /həd/ /rɪˈsivd/ /ðə/ /wɜrd/ /əv/ /ɡɑd/ /ðeɪ/ /sent/ /ˈʌntu/ /ðem/ /pitər/ /ænd/ /dʒɔn/
- [jnd] And
the apostles who were in Jerusalem, having heard that Samaria had
received the word of God, sent to them Peter and John;
- [kjv] Now
when the apostles which
were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they
sent unto them Peter and John:
- 8:15 [cbgb] 兩個人到了、就為他們禱告、要叫他們受聖靈.
- [asv] who,
when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the
Holy Spirit:
- [snd] /hu/ /wen/ /ðeɪ/ /wɜr/ /kʌm/ /daʊn/ /preɪd/ /fɔr/ /ðem/ /ðæt/ /ðeɪ/ /maɪt/ /rɪˈsiv/ /ðə/ /ˈhoʊli/ /ˈspɪrɪt/
- [jnd] who,
having come down, prayed for them that they might receive Holy Spirit;
- [kjv] Who,
when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the
Holy Ghost:
- [asv] for
as yet it was fallen upon none of them: only they had been baptized
into the name of the Lord Jesus.
- [snd] /fɔr/ /æz/ /jet/ /ɪt/ /wɑz/ /ˈfɔlən/ /əˈpɑn/ /nʌn/ /əv/ /ðem/ /ˈoʊnli/ /ðeɪ/ /həd/ /bɪn/ /bæpˈtaɪzd/ /ˈɪntu/ /ðə/ /neɪm/ /əv/ /ðə/ /lɔrd/ /ji'zəs/
- [jnd] for
he was not yet fallen upon any of them, only they were baptised to the
name of the Lord Jesus.
- [kjv] For
as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the
name of the Lord Jesus.)
- [asv] Then
laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
- [snd] /ðen/ /leɪd/ /ðeɪ/ /ðer/ /hændz/ /ɑn/ /ðem/ /ænd/ /ðeɪ/ /rɪˈsivd/ /ðə/ /ˈhoʊli/ /ˈspɪrɪt/
- [jnd] Then
they laid their hands upon them, and they received Holy Spirit.
- [kjv] Then
laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
- [asv] Now
when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles' hands the
Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money,
- [snd] /naʊ/ /wen/ /sai mən/ /sɔ/ /ðæt/ /θru/ /ðə/ /leɪɪŋ/ /ɑn/ /əv/ /ði/ /əˈpɑs(ə)lz/ /hændz/ /ðə/ /ˈhoʊli/ /ˈspɪrɪt/ /wɑz/ /ˈɡɪv(ə)n/ /heɪ/ /ˈɔfərd/ /ðem/ /ˈmʌni/
- [jnd] But
Simon, having seen that by the laying on of the hands of the apostles
the Spirit was given, offered them money,
- [kjv] And
when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy
Ghost was given, he offered them money,
- [asv] saying,
Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay my hands, he may
receive the Holy Spirit.
- [snd] /ˈseɪɪŋ/ /ɡɪv/ /mi/ /ˈɔlsoʊ/ /ðɪs/ /ˈpaʊər/ /ðæt/ /ɑn/ /humsoʊˈevər/ /aɪ/ /leɪ/ /maɪ/ /hændz/ /heɪ/ /meɪ/ /rɪˈsiv/ /ðə/ /ˈhoʊli/ /ˈspɪrɪt/
- [jnd] saying,
Give to me also this power, in order that on whomsoever I may lay hands
he may receive Holy Spirit.
- [kjv] Saying,
Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive
the Holy Ghost.
- [asv] But
Peter said unto him, Thy silver perish with thee, because thou hast
thought to obtain the gift of God with money.
- [snd] /bʌt/ /pitər/ /sed/ /ˈʌntu/ /hɪm/ /ðaɪ/ /ˈsɪlvər/ /ˈperɪʃ/ /wɪð/ /θi/ /bɪˈkɔz/ /ðaʊ/ /hɑst/ /θɔt/ /tu/ /əbˈteɪn/ /ðə/ /ɡɪft/ /əv/ /ɡɑd/ /wɪð/ /ˈmʌni/
- [jnd] And
Peter said to him, Thy
money go with thee to destruction, because thou hast thought that the
gift of God can be obtained by money.
- [kjv] But
Peter said unto him, Thy
money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God
may be purchased with money.
- [asv] Thou
hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right
before God.
- [snd] /ðaʊ/ /hɑst/ /ˈniðər/ /pɑrt/ /nɔr/ /lɑt/ /ɪn/ /ðɪs/ /ˈmætər/ /fɔr/ /ðaɪ/ /hɑrt/ /ɪz/ /nɑt/ /raɪt/ /bɪˈfɔr/ /ɡɑd/

hast neither part nor lot in this matter, for thy heart is not upright
before God.

hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in
the sight of God.
- [asv] Repent
therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray the Lord, if perhaps the
thought of thy heart shall be forgiven thee.
- [snd] /rɪˈpent/ /ˈðerfɔr/ /əv/ /ðɪs/ /ðaɪ/ /'wikidnis/ /ænd/ /preɪ/ /ðə/ /lɔrd/ /ɪf/ /pərˈhæps/ /ðə/ /θɔt/ /əv/ /ðaɪ/ /hɑrt/ /ʃæl/ /bi/ /fərˈɡɪv(ə)n/ /θi/
- [jnd] Repent
therefore of this thy wickedness, and supplicate the Lord, if indeed
the thought of thy heart may be forgiven thee;
- [kjv] Repent
therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought
of thine heart may be forgiven thee.
- [asv] For
I see that thou art in the gall of bitterness and in the bond of
iniquity.
- [snd] /fɔr/ /aɪ/ /si/ /ðæt/ /ðaʊ/ /ɑrt/ /ɪn/ /ðə/ /ɡɔl/ /əv/ /'bitənis/ /ænd/ /ɪn/ /ðə/ /bɑnd/ /əv/ /ɪnaihkwəti/
- [jnd] for
I see thee to be in the gall of bitterness, and bond of unrighteousness.
- [kjv] For
I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of
iniquity.

Simon answered and said, Pray ye for me to the Lord, that none of the
things which ye have spoken come upon me.
- [snd] /ænd/ /sai mən/ /ˈænsərd/ /ænd/ /sed/ /preɪ/ /ji/ /fɔr/ /mi/ /tu/ /ðə/ /lɔrd/ /ðæt/ /nʌn/ /əv/ /ðə/ /θɪŋz/ /wɪtʃ/ /ji/ /hæv/ /ˈspoʊkən/ /kʌm/ /əˈpɑn/ /mi/
- [jnd] And
Simon answering said,
Supplicate *ye* for me to the Lord, so that nothing may come upon me of
the things of which ye have spoken.
- [kjv] Then
answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the LORD for me, that none of
these things which ye have spoken come upon me.
- [asv] They
therefore, when they had testified and spoken the word of the Lord,
returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel to many villages of the
Samaritans.
- [snd] /ðeɪ/ /ˈðerfɔr/ /wen/ /ðeɪ/ /həd/ d/ /ænd/ /ˈspoʊkən/ /ðə/ /wɜrd/ /əv/ /ðə/ /lɔrd/ /rɪˈtɜrnd/ /tu/ /jərusələm/ /ænd/ /pritʃt/ /ðə/ /ˈɡɑsp(ə)l/ /tu/ /ˈmeni/ /ˈvɪlɪdʒiz/ /əv/ /ðə/ /sə'mæritənz/

an angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward
the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza: the
same is desert.
- [snd] /bʌt/ /æn/ /eɪnjəl/ /əv/ /ðə/ /lɔrd/ /speɪk/ /ˈʌntu/ /failip/ /ˈseɪɪŋ/ /əˈraɪz/ /ænd/ /ɡoʊ/ /tɔrd/ /ðə/ /saʊθ/ /ˈʌntu/ /ðə/ /weɪ/ /ðæt/ /ɡoʊθ/ /daʊn/ /frɑm/ /jərusələm/ /ˈʌntu/ /geɪzə/ /ðə/ /seɪm/ /ɪz/ /ˈdezərt/

he arose and went: and behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great
authority under Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was over all her
treasure, who had come to Jerusalem to worship;

he arose and went: and,
behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace
queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and
had come to Jerusalem for to worship,

he was returning and sitting in his chariot, and was reading the
prophet Isaiah.
- [snd] /ænd/ /heɪ/ /wɑz/ /rɪˈtɜrnɪŋ/ /ænd/ /ˈsɪtɪŋ/ /ɪn/ /hɪz/ /ˈtʃeriət/ /ænd/ /wɑz/ /ˈridɪŋ/ /ðə/ /præhfət/ /i zeɪə/

the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.
- [snd] /ænd/ /ðə/ /ˈspɪrɪt/ /sed/ /ˈʌntu/ /failip/ /ɡoʊ/ /nɪr/ /ænd/ /dʒɔɪn/ /ðaɪˈself/ /tu/ /ðɪs/ /ˈtʃeriət/

Philip ran to him, and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said,
Understandest thou what thou readest?
- [snd] /ænd/ /failip/ /ræn/ /tu/ /hɪm/ /ænd/ /hɜrd/ /hɪm/ /ˈridɪŋ/ /i zeɪə/ /ðə/ /præhfət/ /ænd/ /sed/ /ˌʌndərˈstændst/ /ðaʊ/ /wɑt/ /ðaʊ/ /ridst/

he said, How can I, except some one shall guide me? And he besought
Philip to come up and sit with him.

begged Philip to come up and sit with him.
- [kjv] And
he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired
Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

- [asv] Now
the passage of the Scripture which he was reading was this,
He was led
as a sheep to the slaughter; And as a lamb before his shearer
