- [asv] And
when we were escaped, then we knew that the island was called Melita.
- [snd] /ænd/ /wen/ /wi/ /wɜr/ /ɪˈskeɪpt/ /ðen/ /wi/ /nu/ /ðæt/ /ði/ /ˈaɪlənd/ /wɑz/ /kɔld/ /
- [jnd] And
when we got safe we then knew that the island was called Melita.
- [kjv] And
when they were escaped, then they knew that the island was called
Melita.
- [asv] And
the barbarians showed us no common kindness; for they kindled a fire,
and received us all, because of the present rain, and because of the
cold.
- [snd] /ænd/ /ðə/ /bɑrˈberiənz/ /ʃoʊd/ /ʌs/ /nɔh/ /ˈkɑmən/ /ˈkaɪndnəs/ /fɔr/ /ðeɪ/ /ˈkɪnd(ə)ld/ /eɪ/ /faɪr/ /ænd/ /rɪˈsivd/ /ʌs/ /ɔl/ /bɪˈkɔz/ /əv/ /ðə/ /ˈprezənt/ /reɪn/ /ænd/ /bɪˈkɔz/ /əv/ /ði/ /koʊld/
- [jnd] But
the barbarians shewed us
no common kindness; for, having kindled a fire, they took us all in
because of the rain that was falling and because of the cold.
- [kjv] And
the barbarous people
shewed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us
every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold.
- [asv] But
when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and laid them on the fire, a
viper came out by reason of the heat, and fastened on his hand.
- [snd] /bʌt/ /wen/ /pɔ:l/ /həd/ /ˈɡæðərd/ /eɪ/ /ˈbʌnd(ə)l/ /əv/ /stɪks/ /ænd/ /leɪd/ /ðem/ /ɑn/ /ðə/ /faɪr/ /eɪ/ /ˈvaɪpər/ /keɪm/ /aʊt/ /baɪ/ /ˈriz(ə)n/ /əv/ /ðə/ /hit/ /ænd/ /ˈfæs(ə)nd/ /ɑn/ /hɪz/ /hænd/
- [jnd] And
Paul having gathered a
quantity of sticks together in a bundle and laid on the fire, a viper
coming out from the heat seized his hand.
- [kjv] And
when Paul had gathered a
bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of
the heat, and fastened on his hand.
- [asv] And
when the barbarians saw the venomous creature hanging from his hand,
they said one to another, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though
he hath escaped from the sea, yet Justice hath not suffered to live.
- [snd] /ænd/ /wen/ /ðə/ /bɑrˈberiənz/ /sɔ/ /ðə/ /ˈvenəməs/ /ˈkritʃər/ /ˈhæŋɪŋ/ /frɑm/ /hɪz/ /hænd/ /ðeɪ/ /sed/ /wʌn/ /tu/ /əˈnʌðər/ /nɔh/ /daʊt/ /ðɪs/ /mæn/ /ɪz/ /eɪ/ /ˈmɜrdərər/ /hum/ /ðoʊ/ /heɪ/ /hæθ/ /ɪˈskeɪpt/ /frɑm/ /ðə/ /si/ /jet/ /ˈdʒʌstɪs/ /hæθ/ /nɑt/ /ˈsʌfərd/ /tu/ /lɪv/
- [jnd] And
when the barbarians saw
the beast hanging from his hand, they said to one another, This man is
certainly a murderer, whom, saved out of the sea, Nemesis has not
allowed to live.
- [kjv] And
when the barbarians saw
the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No
doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet
vengeance suffereth not to live.
- [asv] Howbeit
he shook off the creature into the fire, and took no harm.
- [snd] /'hau'bi:it/ /heɪ/ /ʃʊk/ /ɔf/ /ði/ /ˈkritʃər/ /ˈɪntu/ /ðə/ /faɪr/ /ænd/ /tʊk/ /nɔh/ /hɑrm/
- [jnd] He*
however, having shaken off the beast into the fire, felt no harm.
- [kjv] And
he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.
- [asv] But
they expected that he would have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly:
but when they were long in expectation and beheld nothing amiss came to
him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.
- [snd] /bʌt/ /ðeɪ/ /ɪkˈspektəd/ /ðæt/ /heɪ/ /wʊd/ /hæv/ /ˈswoʊlən/ /ɔr/ /ˈfɔlən/ /daʊn/ /ded/ /ˈsʌd(ə)nli/ /bʌt/ /wen/ /ðeɪ/ /wɜr/ /lɔŋ/ /ɪn/ /ˌekspekˈteɪʃ(ə)n/ /ænd/ /bɪˈheld/ /ˈnʌθɪŋ/ /əˈmɪs/ /keɪm/ /tu/ /hɪm/ /ðeɪ/ /tʃeɪndʒd/ /ðer/ /maɪndz/ /ænd/ /sed/ /ðæt/ /heɪ/ /wɑz/ /eɪ/ /ɡɑd/
- [jnd] But
*they* expected that he
would have swollen or fallen down suddenly dead. But when they had
expected a long time and saw nothing unusual happen to him, changing
their opinion, they said he was a god.
- [kjv] Howbeit
they looked when he
should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had
looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their
minds, and said that he was a god.
- [asv] Now
in the neighborhood of that place were lands belonging to the chief man
of the island, named Publius, who received us, and entertained us three
days courteously.
- [snd] /naʊ/ /ɪn/ /ðə/ /ˈneɪbərˌhʊd/ /əv/ /ðæt/ /pleɪs/ /wɜr/ /lændz/ /bɪˈlɔŋɪŋ/ /tu/ /ði/ /tʃif/ /mæn/ /əv/ /ði/ /ˈaɪlənd/ /neɪmd/ /pəbliəs/ /hu/ /rɪˈsivd/ /ʌs/ /ænd/ /ˌentərˈteɪnd/ /ʌs/ /θri/ /deɪz/ /ˈkɜrtiəsli/
- [jnd] Now
in the country surrounding
that place were the lands belonging to the chief man of the island, by
name Publius, who received us and gave hospitality three days in a very
friendly way.
- [kjv] In
the same quarters were
possessions of the chief man of the island, whose name was Publius; who
received us, and lodged us three days courteously.
- [asv] And
it was so, that the father of Publius lay sick of fever and dysentery:
unto whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laying his hands on him
healed him.
- [snd] /ænd/ /ɪt/ /wɑz/ /soʊ/ /ðæt/ /ðə/ /ˈfɑðər/ /əv/ /pəbliəs/ /leɪ/ /sɪk/ /əv/ /ˈfivər/ /ænd/ /ˈdɪs(ə)nˌteri/ /ˈʌntu/ /hum/ /pɔ:l/ /ˈentərd/ /ɪn/ /ænd/ /preɪd/ /ænd/ /leɪɪŋ/ /hɪz/ /hændz/ /ɑn/ /hɪm/ /hild/ /hɪm/
- [jnd] And
it happened that the
father of Publius lay ill of fever and dysentery; to whom Paul entered
in, and having prayed and laid his hands on him cured him.
- [kjv] And
it came to pass, that the
father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom
Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.
- [asv] And
when this was done, the rest also that had diseases in the island came,
and were cured:
- [snd] /ænd/ /wen/ /ðɪs/ /wɑz/ /dʌn/ /ðə/ /rest/ /ˈɔlsoʊ/ /ðæt/ /həd/ /dɪˈziziz/ /ɪn/ /ði/ /ˈaɪlənd/ /keɪm/ /ænd/ /wɜr/ /kjʊrd/
- [jnd] But
this having taken place, the rest also who had sicknesses in the island
came and were healed:
- [kjv] So
when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island,
came, and were healed:
- 28:10 [cbgb] 他們又多方的尊敬我們.到了開船的時候、也把我們所需用的送到船上。
- [asv] who
also honored us with many honors; and when we sailed, they put on board
such things as we needed.
- [snd] /hu/ /ˈɔlsoʊ/ /ˈɑnərd/ /ʌs/ /wɪð/ /ˈmeni/ /ˈɑnərz/ /ænd/ /wen/ /wi/ /seɪld/ /ðeɪ/ /put/ /ɑn/ /bɔrd/ /sʌtʃ/ /θɪŋz/ /æz/ /wi/ /nidId/
- [jnd] who
also honoured us with many honours, and on our leaving they made
presents to us of what should minister to our wants.
- [kjv] Who
also honoured us with many honours; and when we departed, they laded us
with such things as were necessary.
- [asv] And
after three months we set sail in a ship of Alexandria which had
wintered in the island, whose sign was The Twin Brothers.
- [snd] /ænd/ /ˈæftər/ /θri/ /mʌnθs/ /wi/ /set/ /seɪl/ /ɪn/ /eɪ/ /ʃɪp/ /əv/ /æl'igzændriə/ /wɪtʃ/ /həd/ /ˈwɪntərd/ /ɪn/ /ði/ /ˈaɪlənd/ /huz/ /saɪn/ /wɑz/ /ðə/ /twɪn/ /ˈbrʌðərz/
- [jnd] And
after three months we sailed in a ship which had wintered in the
island, an Alexandrian, with Dioscuri for its ensign.
- [kjv] And
after three months we departed in a ship of Alexandria, which had
wintered in the isle, whose sign was Castor and Pollux.
- 28:12 [cbgb]
- [asv] And
touching at Syracuse, we tarried there three days.
- [snd] /ænd/ /ˈtʌtʃɪŋ/ /æt/ /saihrəkjuz/ /wi/ d/ /ðer/ /θri/ /deɪz/
- [jnd] And
having come to Syracuse we remained three days.
- [kjv] And
landing at Syracuse, we tarried there three days.
- [asv] And
from thence we made a circuit, and arrived at Rhegium: and after one
day a south wind sprang up, and on the second day we came to Puteoli;
- [snd] /ænd/ /frɑm/ /ðens/ /wi/ /meɪd/ /eɪ/ /ˈsɜrkɪt/ /ænd/ /əˈraɪvd/ /æt/ /rigiɪm/ /ænd/ /ˈæftər/ /wʌn/ /deɪ/ /eɪ/ /saʊθ/ /wɪnd/ /spræŋ/ /ʌp/ /ænd/ /ɑn/ /ðə/ /ˈsekənd/ /deɪ/ /wi/ /keɪm/ /tu/ /p(j)utiəli '/
- [jnd] Whence,
going in a circuitous
course, we arrived at Rhegium; and after one day, the wind having
changed to south, on the second day we came to Puteoli,
- [kjv] And
from thence we fetched a
compass, and came to Rhegium: and after one day the south wind blew,
and we came the next day to Puteoli:
- 28:14 [cbgb] 在那裏遇見弟兄們、請我們與他們同住了七天.這樣、我們來到羅馬。
- [asv] where
we found brethren, and were entreated to tarry with them seven days:
and so we came to Rome.
- [snd] /wer/ /wi/ /faʊnd/ /ˈbreðrən/ /ænd/ /wɜr/ /ɪnˈtritId/ /tu/ /ˈteri/ /wɪð/ /ðem/ /ˈsev(ə)n/ /deɪz/ /ænd/ /soʊ/ /wi/ /keɪm/ /tu/ /rɔhm/
- [jnd] where,
having found brethren, we were begged to stay with them seven days. And
thus we went to Rome.
- [kjv] Where
we found brethren, and were desired to tarry with them seven days: and
so we went toward Rome.
- [asv] And
from thence the brethren, when they heard of us, came to meet us as far
as The Market of Appius and The Three Taverns; whom when Paul saw, he
thanked God, and took courage.
- [snd] /ænd/ /frɑm/ /ðens/ /ðə/ /ˈbreðrən/ /wen/ /ðeɪ/ /hɜrd/ /əv/ /ʌs/ /keɪm/ /tu/ /mit/ /ʌs/ /æz/ /fɑr/ /æz/ /ðə/ /ˈmɑrkət/ /əv/ /æpiəs/ /ænd/ /ðə/ /θri/ /ˈtævərnz/ /hum/ /wen/ /pɔ:l/ /sɔ/ /heɪ/ /θæŋkt/ /ɡɑd/ /ænd/ /tʊk/ /ˈkʌrɪdʒ/
- [jnd] And
thence the brethren,
having heard about us, came to meet us as far as Appii Forum and Tres
Tabernae, whom when Paul saw, he thanked God and took courage.
- [kjv] And
from thence, when the
brethren heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii forum, and
The three taverns: whom when Paul saw, he thanked God, and took courage.
- [asv] And
when we entered into Rome, Paul was suffered to abide by himself with
the soldier that guarded him.
- [snd] /ænd/ /wen/ /wi/ /ˈentərd/ /ˈɪntu/ /rɔhm/ /pɔ:l/ /wɑz/ /ˈsʌfərd/ /tu/ /əˈbaɪd/ /baɪ/ /hɪmˈself/ /wɪð/ /ðə/ /ˈsoʊldʒər/ /ðæt/ /ˈɡɑrdəd/ /hɪm/
- [jnd] And
when we came to Rome, Paul was allowed to remain by himself with the
soldier who kept him.
- [kjv] And
when we came to Rome, the
centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard: but Paul
was suffered to dwell by himself with a soldier that kept him.
- [asv] And
it came to pass, that after three days he called together those that
were the chief of the Jews: and when they were come together, he said
unto them, I, brethren, though I had done nothing against the people,
or the customs of our fathers, yet was delivered prisoner from
Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans:
- [snd] /ænd/ /ɪt/ /keɪm/ /tu/ /pæs/ /ðæt/ /ˈæftər/ /θri/ /deɪz/ /heɪ/ /kɔld/ /təˈɡeðər/ /ðoʊz/ /ðæt/ /wɜr/ /ði/ /tʃif/ /əv/ /ðə/ / /ænd/ /wen/ /ðeɪ/ /wɜr/ /kʌm/ /təˈɡeðər/ /heɪ/ /sed/ /ˈʌntu/ /ðem/ /aɪ/ /ˈbreðrən/ /ðoʊ/ /aɪ/ /həd/ /dʌn/ /ˈnʌθɪŋ/ /əˈɡenst/ /ðə/ /ˈpip(ə)l/ /ɔr/ /ði/ /ˈkʌstəmz/ /əv/ /aʊr/ /ˈfɑðərz/ /jet/ /wɑz/ /dɪˈlɪvərd/ /ˈprɪz(ə)nər/ /frɑm/ /jərusələm/ /ˈɪntu/ /ðə/ /hændz/ /əv/ /ðə/ /'rəumənz/
- [jnd] And
it came to pass after
three days, that he called together those who were the chief of the
Jews; and when they had come together he said to them, Brethren, *I*
having done nothing against the people or the customs of our
forefathers, have been delivered a prisoner from Jerusalem into the
hands of the Romans,
- [kjv] And
it came to pass, that
after three days Paul called the chief of the Jews together: and when
they were come together, he said unto them, Men and brethren, though I
have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers,
yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the
Romans.
- [asv] who,
when they had examined me, desired to set me at liberty, because there
was no cause of death in me.
- [snd] /hu/ /wen/ /ðeɪ/ /həd/ /ɪɡˈzæmɪnd/ /mi/ /dɪˈzaɪrd/ /tu/ /set/ /mi/ /æt/ /ˈlɪbərti/ /bɪˈkɔz/ /ðer/ /wɑz/ /nɔh/ /kɔz/ /əv/ /deθ/ /ɪn/ /mi/
- [jnd] who
having examined me were minded to let me go, because there was nothing
worthy of death in me.
- [kjv] Who,
when they had examined me, would have let me go, because there was no
cause of death in me.
- [asv] But
when the Jews spake against it, I was constrained to appeal unto
Caesar; not that I had aught whereof to accuse my nation.
- [snd] /bʌt/ /wen/ /ðə/ / /speɪk/ /əˈɡenst/ /ɪt/ /aɪ/ /wɑz/ /kənˈstreɪnd/ /tu/ /əˈpil/ /ˈʌntu/ /sizər/ /nɑt/ /ðæt/ /aɪ/ /həd/ /ɔt/ /werˈɔv/ /tu/ /əˈkjuz/ /maɪ/ /ˈneɪʃ(ə)n/
- [jnd] But
the Jews speaking against it, I was compelled to appeal to Caesar, not
as having anything to accuse my nation of.
- [kjv] But
when the Jews spake against it, I was constrained to appeal unto
Caesar; not that I had ought to accuse my nation of.
- [asv] For
this cause therefore did I entreat you to see and to speak with me: for
because of the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain.
- [snd] /fɔr/ /ðɪs/ /kɔz/ /ˈðerfɔr/ /dɪd/ /aɪ/ /ɪnˈtrit/ /ju/ /tu/ /si/ /ænd/ /tu/ /spik/ /wɪð/ /mi/ /fɔr/ /bɪˈkɔz/ /əv/ /ðə/ /hoʊp/ /əv/ /aizriəl/ /aɪ/ /ɑm'/ /baʊnd/ /wɪð/ /ðɪs/ /tʃeɪn/
- [jnd] For
this cause therefore I
have called you to to see and to speak to you; for on account of the
hope of Israel I have this chain about me.
- [kjv] For
this cause therefore have
I called for you, to see you, and to speak with you: because that for
the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain.
- [asv] And
they said unto him, We neither received letters from Judaea concerning
thee, nor did any of the brethren come hither and report or speak any
harm of thee.
- [snd] /ænd/ /ðeɪ/ /sed/ /ˈʌntu/ /hɪm/ /wi/ /ˈniðər/ /rɪˈsivd/ /ˈletərz/ /frɑm/ /dʒu:'diə/ /kənˈsɜrnɪŋ/ /θi/ /nɔr/ /dɪd/ /ˈeni/ /əv/ /ðə/ /ˈbreðrən/ /kʌm/ /ˈhɪðər/ /ænd/ /rɪˈpɔrt/ /ɔr/ /spik/ /ˈeni/ /hɑrm/ /əv/ /θi/
- [jnd] And
they said to him, For our
part, we have neither received letters from Judaea concerning thee, nor
has any one of the brethren who has arrived reported or said anything
evil concerning thee.
- [kjv] And
they said unto him, We
neither received letters out of Judaea concerning thee, neither any of
the brethren that came shewed or spake any harm of thee.
- [asv] But
we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this
sect, it is known to us that everywhere it is spoken against.
- [snd] /bʌt/ /wi/ /dɪˈzaɪr/ /tu/ /hɪr/ /əv/ /θi/ /wɑt/ /ðaʊ/ /θɪŋkst/ /fɔr/ /æz/ /kənˈsɜrnɪŋ/ /ðɪs/ /sekt/ /ɪt/ /ɪz/ /noʊn/ /tu/ /ʌs/ /ðæt/ /ˈevriˌwer/ /ɪt/ /ɪz/ /ˈspoʊkən/ /əˈɡenst/
- [jnd] But
we beg to hear of thee
what thou thinkest, for as concerning this sect it is known to us that
it is everywhere spoken against.
- [kjv] But
we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this
sect, we know that every where it is spoken against.
- [asv] And
when they had appointed him a day, they came to him into his lodging in
great number; to whom he expounded the matter, testifying the kingdom
of God, and persuading them concerning Jesus, both from the law of
Moses and from the prophets, from morning till evening.
- [snd] /ænd/ /wen/ /ðeɪ/ /həd/ /əˈpɔɪntəd/ /hɪm/ /eɪ/ /deɪ/ /ðeɪ/ /keɪm/ /tu/ /hɪm/ /ˈɪntu/ /hɪz/ /ˈlɑdʒɪŋ/ /ɪn/ /ɡreɪt/ /ˈnʌmbər/ /tu/ /hum/ /heɪ/ /ɪkˈspaʊndId/ /ðə/ /ˈmætər/ /ˈtestɪˌfaɪɪŋ/ /ðə/ /ˈkɪŋdəm/ /əv/ /ɡɑd/ /ænd/ /pərˈsweɪdɪŋ/ /ðem/ /kənˈsɜrnɪŋ/ /ji'zəs/ /boʊθ/ /frɑm/ /ðə/ /lɔ/ /əv/ /mɔhzis/ /ænd/ /frɑm/ /ðə/ /ˈprɑfɪts/ /frɑm/ /ˈmɔrnɪŋ/ /tɪl/ /ˈivnɪŋ/
- [jnd] And
having appointed him a day
many came to him to the lodging, to whom he expounded, testifying of
the kingdom of God, and persuading them concerning Jesus, both from the
law of Moses and the prophets, from early morning to evening.
- [kjv] And
when they had appointed
him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he
expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning
Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from
morning till evening.
- 28:24 [cbgb]
- [asv] And
some believed the things which were spoken, and some disbelieved.
- [snd] /ænd/ /sʌm/ /bɪˈlivd/ /ðə/ /θɪŋz/ /wɪtʃ/ /wɜr/ /ˈspoʊkən/ /ænd/ /sʌm/ /ˌdɪsbɪˈlivd/
- [jnd] And
some were persuaded of the things which were said, but some disbelieved.
- [kjv] And
some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.
- [asv] And
when they agreed not among themselves, they departed after that Paul
had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Spirit through Isaiah the
prophet unto your fathers,
- [snd] /ænd/ /wen/ /ðeɪ/ /əˈɡrid/ /nɑt/ /əˈmʌŋ/ /ðəmˈselvz/ /ðeɪ/ /dɪˈpɑrtəd/ /ˈæftər/ /ðæt/ /pɔ:l/ /həd/ /ˈspoʊkən/ /wʌn/ /wɜrd/ /wel/ /speɪk/ /ðə/ /ˈhoʊli/ /ˈspɪrɪt/ /θru/ /i zeɪə/ /ðə/ /præhfət/ /ˈʌntu/ /jʊr/ /ˈfɑðərz/
- [jnd] And
being disagreed among
themselves they left; Paul having spoken one word, Well spoke the Holy
Spirit through Esaias the prophet to our fathers,
- [kjv] And
when they agreed not among
themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well
spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,
- [asv] saying,
Go thou unto this people, and say, By hearing ye
shall hear, and
shall in no wise understand; And seeing ye shall see, and
shall in no
wise perceive:
- [snd] /ˈseɪɪŋ/ /ɡoʊ/ /ðaʊ/ /ˈʌntu/ /ðɪs/ /ˈpip(ə)l/ /ænd/ /seɪ/ /baɪ/ /ˈhɪrɪŋ/ /ji/ /ʃæl/ /hɪr/ /ænd/ /ʃæl/ /ɪn/ /nɔh/ /waɪz/ /ˌʌndərˈstænd/ /ænd/ /ˈsiɪŋ/ /ji/ /ʃæl/ /si/ /ænd/ /ʃæl/ /ɪn/ /nɔh/ /waɪz/ /pərˈsiv/
- [jnd] saying,
Go to this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear and not understand,
and seeing ye shall see and not perceive.
- [kjv] Saying,
Go unto this people,
and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye
shall see, and not perceive:
- 28:27 [cbgb] 因為這百姓、油蒙了心、耳朵發沉、眼睛閉著.恐怕眼睛看見、耳朵聽見、心裏明白、回轉過來、我就醫治他們。』
- [asv] For
this people's heart is waxed gross, And their ears are dull
