    • [jnd]   And he did not give him an inheritance in it, not even what his foot could stand on; and promised to give it to him for a possession, and to his seed after him, when he had no child.

    • [jnd]   And God spoke thus: His seed shall be a sojourner in a strange land, and they shall enslave them and evil entreat four hundred years;

  17. 7:17 [cbgb]   及至 神應許亞伯拉罕的日期將到、以色列民在埃及興盛眾多、
    • [asv]   But as the time of the promise drew nigh which God vouchsafed unto Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt,

  23. 7:23 [cbgb]   他將到四十歲、心中起意、去看望他的弟兄以色列人.
    • [asv]   But when he was well-nigh forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren the children of Israel.

    • [asv]   and he supposed that his brethren understood that God by his hand was giving them deliverance; but they understood not.
